What a glorious, gloomy, chilly, and rainy day.
On days like this we need a comforter. It just so happens that in Sunday’s text, John 14:15-21, John uses the Greek word “parakletos” for the first time. This is a hard word to pin down when it comes to its meaning. It has therefore been variously translated as: ‘comforter,’ ‘teacher,’ ‘advocate,’ ‘counsellor,’ ‘helper,’ and ‘guide.’ Any way you slice it, Jesus has promised to be with us. He is our comforter.
This Saturday morning the men of the church are gathering for a breakfast in the Fellowship Hall at 8:00 a.m. This time will be dedicated to planning where the men’s group is headed. So men bring a friend let’s make this ministry awesome!
Be in prayer for Linda Chapman. Her recovery is experiencing a number of bumps in the road. Both she and Hank appreciate prayer for this situation.
Hope to see you all on Sunday.
