Sunday, August 20

Dear Church,
We find ourselves in trying times. The headlines are filled with national and global turmoil. Please pray for our country and our world. Pray with the understanding that what the world needs now is love, manifested in Jesus. The church, the body of Christ, has always been meant to be the sole source of that love. We have failed though out history to be that light. Maybe it was because we tried to be the light itself instead of reflecting the light that only comes from God through Jesus.

First Baptist can be a beacon of hope in a divided world. We own the desire to be a multi-racial church. We want to be a place where people come together across race and ethnicity in the name of Jesus. We aren’t perfect, but our intention is aligned with the heart of God.

So I invite you to worship together this Sunday as we look at the miracle exorcism that Jesus performs for a Canaanite mothers’ demon-possessed daughter. The story is found in Matthew 15:21-28. Jesus demonstrates that grace has no limits.

Tonight at 5:30 there is a ProtoStar-Family Campfire. There will be food and a Bible story.

Saturday morning at 8 am there is a men’s breakfast. We will be enjoying a breakfast burrito bar and a short devotional. You’ll be done by 9 or a little after. So guys, come on out and let’s gt to know each other.

We have reached the $8000 mark in our support of the Suns! God is good!

See you Sunday.
