June Birthdays & Anniversaries
Please see the e-mail Pastor Tim sent out on Thursday, June 7th.

Praises:
• We thank God for 5 women and 2 children who returned home in May. Pray their lives continue with provision and guidance for the future.
• We thank God for the miraculous intervention that allowed a Tanzanaian baby and mother to be reunited after many months of separation. We are thankful for the work of staff and government officials to correct documents and make it possible for them to return home to their family.
• We thank God for all who continually support NightLight and make it possible to reach so many women. We are also grateful for partnerships with other NGOs and with churches who assist and finance the great needs.
• We thank God for the hard work of the women who are producing the new jewelry line and new products for the summer season. We thank God for our guest designer Emily who contributed most of the designs.

Favorite Song
Let’s get to know one another better. How? By people sharing their favorite song. You can sing it, dance to it, present a video of it, let your imagination run wild. Sign up in the church foyer. We have two performance dates: June 17 & July 1. Each evenong’s program will be gin at 7:00 p.m. Even if you are not performing it would be cool if you would come and support those who are performing. Last but not least, you can still sign up.

Juneteenth Celebration [Saturday, June 16]
This year’s celebration will be held at Comiskey Park on Saturday, June 16. While we have a good presence at this event every year, this year it would be cool to add an information booth as well. We will have information about our church and free giveaways. Are you up to helping out? The event runs from 1-4 p.m. There will be food, entertainment and fun for the whole family.

FBC Movie Night [June 8]
“Twelve Angry Men” – The defense and the prosecution have rested, and the jury is filing into the jury room to decide if a young man is guilty or innocent of murdering his father. What begins as an open-and-shut case of murder soon becomes a detective story that presents a succession of clues creating doubt, and a mini-drama of each juror’s prejudices and preconceptions about the trial, the accused, and each other. One juror attempts to prevent a miscarriage of justice by forcing his colleagues to reconsider the evidence. Movie begins at 630 p.m. and the water and popcorn is free.

Last Annual Garage Sale
This year’s garage sale will be on June 29-30. Proceeds will go toward assisting the Suns in their transition to a new mission. Please save your quality, and gently used goods for the sale. We will begin the set-up after church on Sunday, June 24. We will need help sorting and pricing during the week. The sale will be Friday evening and Saturday morning.

We will also need help in tearing down which is vital because this year we need people to help us transport left-over goods to the St. Vincent de Paul Society on Radford Road. The Mission has informed us that they have ceased from picking up left-overs from garage sales.

June Birthdays & Anniversaries
Please see the e-mail Pastor Tim sent out on Friday, June 15th.

Praises:
• We thank God for two YWAM teams that came and served, and for the childcare they helped make available during summer break. The children loved their time with this team, and it was really appreciated by the mothers and staff at Nightlight.
• We thank God for every opportunity we have to be a light in the darkness of the Red Light area. At a live music night at CityLight Coffee shop last week, a man came to sit and listen and was moved. He said, “What you have here is changing the environment; it is changing the world with the love that is here.” That is our goal, and we thank God that His Light and Love is making such an impact in the neighborhood around us.
[Next week we will have some prayer requests]

Favorite Song
This Sunday evening is the first of two programs featuring “My Favorite Song.” The goal of this is to have fun, and to create an opportunity to get to know one another better through sharing a favorite song. Come out and support the people who have decided to share their song. This Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. The next night will be on July 1.

Juneteenth Celebration [Saturday, June 16]
This Saturday is Juneteenth. The event runs from 1-4 p.m. It would be cool for as many FBC people as possible to attend. It would also be neat if you would help out at our FBC tent where we will be giving out bibles, water, and goodies. Even if you don’t help out there will be fun things to do. There is a talent show and door prizes. So come out to Comiskey Park and celebrate.

Garage Sale Set-Up
Next Sunday, following the worship service, we need help in converting the sanctuary into a sales area for the upcoming garage sale. If you can stay and help out for about thirty minutes that would be a great help. Thanks!
