This year, we will be exploring parables through story, using Montessori materials, journaling, and engaging in art experience s to express our spiritual journey. The program will meet once a month on the third Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The first session will be January 19th. Group size will be limited to not more than 15 children with two adults. Since this is a drop-off program, families must complete all required registration forms before children can attend the program.
Registration forms are due by December 31st. The Godly Play program is offered at no cost to your family. For more information, you may contact Christine Quintana at 563-583-4623.

December Movie
Join us on Friday December 8 for our Christmas movie. We will be viewing “The Nativity Story.” In Nazareth, teenager Mary is betrothed to the local carpenter, Joseph. Mary is visited by an angel and told that she will fulfill a prophecy and as a virgin give birth to God’s son, the savior of the world. Mary’s pregnancy brings her the scorn of the community and Joseph struggles to believe her seemingly outlandish story. Meanwhile, a census forces every man and his family to return to his place of birth. Joseph and Mary set out on a long and arduous journey to Bethlehem. This story is based on the Biblical account of the birth of Jesus Christ.

Retired Ministers’ & Missionaries Offering [RMMO]
After a life of service, how does a retired ABCUSA minister, missionary or widowed spouse make ends meet? RMMO helps provide financial support to ease their burden a little. But it is more than assistance. One grateful widow says, “The thank you check is more than a check; it sends love … thank you for remembering me.” Prayerfully consider your contribution to this valuable and important offering.

Christmas Worship Schedule
Regular Sunday morning 10:00 a.m.
This is the fourth Sunday of Advent. We will hold a regular worship service, with the addition of Advent celebrations. The sermon will be on the shepherd’s faith.
Christmas Eve 6:00 p.m.
This service is packed with traditional “Christmas” songs, a candle lighting, special music and a message. Jesus is the focus of this time together.
Christmas Day 10:00 a.m.
What better day to be in church than Christmas Day? This is a relaxed, and informal worship service featuring the singing of Christmas Carols and an old television show that had a gospel presentation. We know that our world is changing. We live in a day when people are encouraged to wish others “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas.” The pastor’s interest is in finding old network television shows that understood the nature of Christmas and included Jesus in the script in some way. It is believed that this year’s selection will be a repeat
[aren’t they all], and in color!
